आहोस्विच्छकटबव्यूहं प्रविष्टा मोघनिश्चया: । द्रोणमाश्रित्य तिष्ठन्तं प्राकारमकुतो भयम्,अथवा ऐसा तो नहीं हुआ कि अपना मनोरथ सफल न होनेपर वे परकोटेकी भाँति खड़े हुए द्रोणाचार्यका आश्रय लेकर सर्वथा निर्भय शकटव्यूहमें घुस गये हों
āhosvic chakaṭavyūhaṁ praviṣṭā moghaniścayāḥ | droṇam āśritya tiṣṭhantaṁ prākāram akuto-bhayam ||
Dhṛtarāṣṭra dit : «Ou bien, leur résolution devenue vaine, entrèrent-ils sans crainte dans la formation de combat en forme de char (shakata-vyūha), prenant refuge auprès de Droṇa, qui se tenait ferme tel un rempart ?»
धृतराष्ट उवाच
The verse highlights how, in crisis, warriors may seek security by relying on a powerful protector and a strong formation; it also hints at the ethical tension between genuine courage and confidence borrowed from external support.
Dhṛtarāṣṭra speculates about the battlefield situation: he wonders whether the warriors, after their plan failed, entered the śakaṭa-vyūha fearlessly because they were sheltered by Droṇa, who stood like a defensive wall.
