धृतराष्ट्रस्य मूर्च्छा तथा द्रोणविषयकप्रश्नाः
Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Fainting and Questions Concerning Droṇa
अनर्हमाणान् कौन्तेयान् कर्मणस्तस्य तत् फलम् | मैंने अमर्षमें भरकर सदा कष्ट भोगनेके अयोग्य कुन्तीकुमारोंको क्लेश ही दिया है; परंतु मेरे इस बर्तावको द्रोणाचार्यने चुपचाप सह लिया था। उनके उसी कर्मका यह वधरूपी फल प्राप्त हुआ है
an-arhamāṇān kaunteyān karmaṇas tasya tat phalam |
Dhṛtarāṣṭra se remémore avec repentir : longtemps, sous l’effet d’un ressentiment couvant, je n’ai infligé que peines et tourments aux fils de Kuntī—des hommes qui ne méritaient pas une telle souffrance. Droṇācārya a enduré en silence cette conduite ; à présent, Dhṛtarāṣṭra voit dans la mort de Droṇa le fruit funeste de ce forfait, revenu comme conséquence au cœur de la guerre.
