Saumadatti-vadha and Bhīma–Alambusa-saṃyoga (सौमदत्तिवधः तथा भीमालम्बुससंयोगः)
निर्दिष्ट यद् वृषाड्केण पुण्यं सर्वार्थसाधकम् | तौ जग्मतुरसम्भ्रान्ती नरनारायणावृषी
nirdiṣṭa yad vṛṣāṅkeṇa puṇyaṁ sarvārthasādhakam | tau jagmatur asambhrāntī nara-nārāyaṇāv ṛṣī ||
Sañjaya dit : «Après que Vṛṣāṅka (Śiva) leur eut indiqué cette voie méritoire qui accomplit toute fin légitime, les deux sages Nara et Nārāyaṇa se mirent en route, sans trouble, l’esprit ferme.»
संजय उवाच
True spiritual merit is not merely ritual but a dharmic path ‘shown’ by the divine that leads to comprehensive well-being; the ideal response is steadiness—acting without agitation or confusion.
Sañjaya reports that, after Śiva (Vṛṣāṅka) indicates a supremely efficacious meritorious course, the twin sages Nara and Nārāyaṇa depart calmly and resolutely, suggesting disciplined adherence to the revealed guidance.
