वाहनानि शकुृम्मूत्रे मुमुचू रुरुदुश्न ह । तान् दृष्टवा दारुणान् सर्वनुत्पाताँललोमहर्षणान्,भरतश्रेष्ठ! हाथी, घोड़े आदि वाहन मल-मूत्र करने और रोने लगे। उन सब भयंकर एवं रोमांचकारी उत्पातोंको देखकर और महाबली सव्यसाची अर्जुनकी उस भयंकर प्रतिज्ञाको सुनकर आपके सभी सैनिक व्यथित हो उठे

vāhanāni śakṛn-mūtre mumucuḥ ruruduś ca ha |
tān dṛṣṭvā dāruṇān sarvān utpātān loma-harṣaṇān bharata-śreṣṭha |
Sañjaya dit : Les montures et les véhicules — éléphants, chevaux et autres — lâchèrent fiente et urine et se mirent à gémir. Voyant ces présages terribles qui faisaient se dresser les cheveux, ô meilleur des Bharata, et entendant le vœu effroyable du puissant Savyasācin (Arjuna), toute ton armée fut secouée d’angoisse.
