athotthāya sahāmātyair dīnaḥ śibiram ātmanaḥ | āyāt sauvīrasindhūnām īśvaro bhūśa duḥkhitaḥ ||
Puis Jayadratha, souverain des Sauvīras et des Sindhus, se leva dans une profonde détresse. Misérable et accablé de chagrin, il regagna son propre camp avec ses ministres.
संजय उवाच
Even a powerful ruler can be reduced to helpless sorrow when actions in war bear their inevitable consequences; authority does not shield one from the ethical and emotional aftermath of adharma and conflict.
Sañjaya reports that Jayadratha, ruler of the Sauvīras and Sindhus, rises in dejection and, accompanied by his ministers, returns to his own military camp, overwhelmed by grief.
