Droṇa Appointed Commander-in-Chief
य॑ हि सेनाप्रणेतारं भवान् वक्ष्यति संयुगे । त॑ वयं सहिता: सर्वे करिष्यामो न संशय:,इस युद्धस्थलमें तुम जिसे सेनापतिपदके योग्य बताओगे, नि:संदेह हम सब लोग मिलकर उसीको सेनानायक बनायेंगे
ya hi senāpraṇetāraṃ bhavān vakṣyati saṃyuge | taṃ vayaṃ sahitāḥ sarve kariṣyāmo na saṃśayaḥ ||
Celui que tu désigneras ici, sur le champ de bataille, comme digne de mener l’armée, c’est lui même que nous tous, d’un seul élan, établirons comme commandant—sans le moindre doute.
दुर्योधन उवाच
Effective conduct in war requires unified command and disciplined acceptance of competent counsel; Duryodhana stresses collective agreement and the legitimacy of leadership chosen through respected advice.
In the Drona Parva context, Duryodhana addresses an honored authority figure and promises that the Kauravas will unanimously accept whomever that person recommends as the army’s commander for the battle.
