Abhimanyu’s Fall and the Battlefield Aftermath
अन्तरं यस्य संरब्धा न पश्यन्ति महारथा: । अस्यतो लघुहस्तस्य दिश: सर्वा महेषुभि:
antaraṃ yasya saṃrabdhā na paśyanti mahārathāḥ | asyato laghuhastasya diśaḥ sarvā maheṣubhiḥ ||
Sañjaya dit : Les grands guerriers de char, bien qu’entièrement soulevés pour le combat, ne purent trouver la moindre ouverture contre lui. Car cet archer à la main prompte, lorsqu’il tirait, emplissait toutes les directions de flèches puissantes.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how consummate discipline and speed in action can deny an opponent any ‘opening’—a martial lesson that also carries an ethical undertone: in war, superior skill can create an overwhelming, near-inescapable pressure, reminding readers of the grave responsibility that accompanies power.
Sañjaya describes a formidable archer whose rapid, continuous volleys of powerful arrows fill all directions. Even elite warriors, though eager and aggressive, cannot perceive any gap or weakness to exploit against him.
