Adhyāya 40 (Book 7, Droṇa-parva): Abhimanyu’s Rapid Advance and Battlefield Disruption
सौभद्रम भ्ययात् तूर्ण दृढमुद्यम्य कार्मुकम् । तत उच्चुक्रुशु: पार्थास्तिषां चानुचरा जना: । वादित्राणि च संजघ्नु: सौभद्रे चापि तुष्ठवु:,कर्णको संकटमें पड़ा देख उसका छोटा भाई सुदृढ़ धनुष हाथमें लेकर तुरंत ही सुभद्राकुमारका सामना करनेके लिये आ पहुँचा। उस समय कुन्तीके सभी पुत्र और उनके अनुगामी सैनिक जोर-जोरसे गरजने, बाजे बजाने और अभिमन्युकी भूरि-भूरि प्रशंसा करने लगे
Saubhadram abhyayāt tūrṇaṁ dṛḍham udyamya kārmukam | tata uccukruśuḥ pārthās tiṣāṁ cānucarā janāḥ | vāditrāṇi ca saṁjaghnuḥ saubhadre cāpi tuṣṭuvuḥ ||
Sañjaya dit : Saisissant fermement son arc, il se précipita avec vitesse pour affronter Saubhadra (Abhimanyu). Alors les fils de Pṛthā (les Pāṇḍava) et les troupes qui les suivaient poussèrent de grands cris ; ils firent retentir leurs instruments et, dans la joie, célébrèrent Saubhadra, attestant courage et loyauté au cœur des dures exigences de la guerre.
