Transliteration

iti śrīmahābhārate droṇaparvaṇi nārāyaṇāstramokṣaparvaṇy aśvatthāmaparākrame dviśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ

Translation

Sañjaya dit : Ainsi, dans le Śrī Mahābhārata, au sein du Droṇa Parva—plus précisément dans la section consacrée au déclenchement de l’arme Nārāyaṇa—s’achève le deux-centième chapitre, décrivant l’effort farouche d’Aśvatthāman au combat. Le colophon présente cet épisode comme un avertissement moral : déchaîner des armes divines dans la colère entraîne des conséquences catastrophiques, et lorsque la retenue est abandonnée dans la guerre, l’effondrement éthique ne fait que s’aggraver.
