उभयेनैव ते हीना नाविन्दन् धृतिमात्मन: । इस लोकमें पराजय और परलोकमें महान् भय पाकर दोनों ही लोकोंसे वंचित हो वे अपने भीतर धैर्य न धारण कर सके
ubhayenaiva te hīnā nāvindan dhṛtim ātmanaḥ |
Sañjaya dit : Déchus de part et d’autre, ils ne purent trouver en eux la stabilité. Ayant rencontré la défaite en ce monde et une grande crainte quant à l’autre, ils furent retranchés des deux sphères et ne surent maintenir le courage intérieur.
