sthitāḥ paśyata me karma droṇam eva vrajāmy aham | ity uktvā prāviśat kruddho droṇānīkaṃ vṛkodaraḥ ||
In the battlefield ethic of the epic, steadfastness and decisive action are praised when undertaken for one’s side’s protection and strategic necessity; Bhīma’s vow-like resolve models kṣatriya courage directed toward a clear objective rather than hesitation.
Bhīma calls on his allies to hold position and witness his feat, then—angered—he plunges into Droṇa’s formation, signaling an aggressive attempt to strike at the enemy commander and disrupt the opposing force.
