तौ शरैश्छादयामास विराटद्रुपदावुभौ । क्षत्रियमर्दन द्रोणाचार्यने अपने बाणोंद्वारा उस बाणवर्षाको नष्ट करके विराट और द्रुपद दोनोंको ढक दिया
tau śaraiś chādayāmāsa virāṭa-drupadāv ubhau |
Sañjaya dit : Droṇa, le broyeur de guerriers, opposa à cette averse de flèches ses propres traits, puis recouvrit à la fois Virāṭa et Drupada, les accablant sous une grêle épaisse de projectiles. La scène souligne l’élan impitoyable du combat : la maîtrise des armes peut, en un instant, éclipser même des rois illustres, et fait monter la tension morale entre prouesse et prix tragique de la guerre.
