तदुग्रमतिरौद्रं च दृष्टवा युद्ध नराधिप
tad ugramatiraudraṃ ca dṛṣṭvā yuddha narādhipa
Sañjaya dit : Ô roi, ayant contemplé cette bataille —farouche dans son dessein et terrible dans sa violence— (les guerriers en furent ébranlés), car un tel spectacle montre combien vite, dans la guerre, la colère et la résolution peuvent éclipser la retenue et le dharma.
