एते कौरव संक्रन्दे शैनेयं पर्यवाकिरन् । फिर कर्णने दस, आपके पुत्रने सात, वृषसेनने दस और शकुनिने भी सात बाण मारे। कुरुराज! इन वीरोंने युद्धमें शिनिपौत्र सात्यकिपर चारों ओरसे बाणोंकी वर्षा आरम्भ कर दी

Sañjaya dit : Dans cette bataille tumultueuse, ces guerriers kaurava accablèrent Śaineya (Sātyaki) de toutes parts d’averses de flèches : Karṇa l’atteignit de dix, le fils du roi de sept, Vṛṣasena de dix, et Śakuni aussi de sept. Ainsi, ô seigneur des Kurus, au cœur de la mêlée, ils commencèrent à l’encercler sous une pluie de traits.
