द्रोणपर्व — अध्याय १६२: प्रातःसंध्यायां युद्धप्रवृत्तिः तथा रजोमेघे संमूढता
मानी द्रौणिरसम्भ्रानन््तो बाणपाणिरभाषत । उन बाणोंसे अत्यन्त घायल होकर मानी द्रोणकुमार पैरोंसे कुचले गये सर्पके समान अत्यन्त कुपित हो उठा और हाथमें बाण लेकर संभ्रमरहित हो इस प्रकार बोला-- ।। धृष्टय्युम्न स्थिरो भूत्वा मुहूर्त प्रतिपालय
mānī drauṇir asambhrānto bāṇapāṇir abhāṣata | dhṛṣṭadyumna sthiro bhūtvā muhūrtaṃ pratipālaya ||
Sañjaya dit : Le fier fils de Droṇa, sans trouble, les flèches en main, prit la parole : « Dhṛṣṭadyumna, tiens bon et garde ta position un instant. » La scène montre comment l’orgueil blessé et la colère peuvent se durcir en résolution sur le champ de bataille, tandis que l’injonction de « tenir ferme » rappelle l’éthique du guerrier : la maîtrise de soi au cœur du tumulte.
