Educational Q&A

The verse highlights that war is not only action but also testimony: the entire host becomes a witness to a terrifying outcome shaped by choices. It implicitly warns that violence, once unleashed, becomes a collective spectacle with ethical consequences for all who participate or approve.

Sañjaya, narrating events to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, announces that the impending scene is so dreadful and thrilling that all the assembled forces will witness it—setting the tone for an intense, fearsome encounter on the battlefield.
