प्रहरिष्यन्‌ हृतो बाहुरदृश्येन किरीटिना । वेगेन न्‍न्यपतद्‌ भूमौ पठ्चास्य इव पन्नग:

Transliteration

praharīṣyan hṛto bāhur adṛśyena kirīṭinā | vegena nyapatad bhūmau pañcāsya iva pannagaḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya dit : Au moment où ce bras se levait pour frapper, il fut tranché par le trait invisible et fulgurant d’Arjuna au diadème ; puis, avec une force terrible, il tomba à terre tel un serpent à cinq têtes. L’image souligne la précision impitoyable de la bataille—où l’intention de nuire est aussitôt brisée par une maîtrise supérieure—tout en laissant sentir la gravité morale de la violence qui, une fois lâchée, revient avec des conséquences effroyables.
