sañjaya uvāca | tasyāsyato dhanuḥ bhīmaś chittvā niśitais tribhiḥ | rathanīḍāc ca yantāraṃ bhallena apātayat kṣitau ||
Sañjaya dit : Tandis que Karṇa décochait ses traits, Bhīmasena trancha son arc de trois flèches acérées comme des rasoirs ; puis, d’une flèche à large fer, il abattit le cocher du siège du char jusque sur la terre.

As Karṇa is actively shooting, Bhīmasena cuts Karṇa’s bow with three sharp arrows and then strikes the charioteer with a bhalla, causing him to fall from the chariot-seat to the ground.
