Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s appraisal of Vāsudeva’s deeds

सत्यं धृतिश्व शौर्य च ब्रह्म॒चर्य च केवलम्‌ । सर्वाणि युयुधाने5स्मिन्‌ नित्यानि पुरुषर्षभे,जिन्होंने सौवीरराजकी विशाल सेनाको मथकर उनकी सर्वांगसुन्दरी कमनीय कन्या भोजाको अपनी रानी बनानेके लिये हर लिया था, उन पुरुषशिरोमणि सात्यकिमें सत्य, धैर्य, शौर्य और विशुद्ध ब्रह्मचर्य आदि सारे सदगुण सदा विद्यमान रहते हैं

satyaṁ dhṛtiś ca śauryaṁ ca brahmacaryaṁ ca kevalam | sarvāṇi yuyudhāne 'smin nityāni puruṣarṣabhe ||

Vaiśampāyana dit : «En ce taureau parmi les hommes, Yuyudhāna (Sātyaki), la vérité, la constance, l’héroïsme et le brahmacarya pur sont toujours présents ; oui, toutes ces vertus demeurent en lui sans cesse.»
