अध्याय ८० — मध्यंदिन-रणवृत्तान्तः

यदि यामि विना भीम किं मां क्षत्र॑ वदिष्यति । एकायनगते भीमे मयि चावस्थिते युधि,“भीम एकमात्र युद्धके पथपर गये हैं और मैं भी युद्धस्थलमें उपस्थित हूँ। ऐसी दशामें यदि भीमसेनके बिना ही लौट जाऊँ तो क्षत्रियसमाज मुझे क्या कहेगा?
yadi yāmi vinā bhīma kiṁ māṁ kṣatra vadīṣyati | ekāyanagate bhīme mayi cāvāsthite yudhi ||
Sañjaya dit : «Si je reviens sans Bhīma, que dira de moi la communauté des guerriers ? Quand Bhīma s’est engagé seul sur la voie du combat et que moi aussi je demeure sur le champ de bataille, comment pourrais-je rentrer sans lui ?»
