adya pāṇḍusutānekaḥ sasainyān saha bandhubhiḥ | so'haṃ nivārayiṣyāmi sarvalokasya paśyataḥ ||
The verse highlights the kṣatriya ideal of publicly accountable resolve: a warrior stakes his reputation before the world by declaring he will restrain the enemy’s advance. Ethically, it reflects how honor, duty, and deterrence operate in wartime speech—confidence is presented as a moral claim and a strategic warning.
Sañjaya reports a battlefield declaration in which a speaker (implied to be a formidable warrior) vows to single-handedly stop the Pāṇḍavas along with their forces and allies, emphasizing that this will occur openly before all observers.
