भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय २: संजयस्य दिव्यदृष्टिप्रदानम् तथा निमित्तवर्णनम्
Granting Sañjaya Divine Sight and the Description of Omens
दिष्टमेतन्नरव्याप्र नाभिशोचितुमहसि । न चैव शक्यं संयन्तुं यतो धर्मस्ततो जय:
diṣṭam etan naravyāghra nābhiśocitum arhasi | na caiva śakyaṃ saṃyantuṃ yato dharmas tato jayaḥ ||
Ô tigre parmi les hommes, ceci a été décrété par le destin ; tu ne dois pas t’en affliger. Et l’on ne peut véritablement ni l’entraver ni l’écarter — car là où se tient le dharma, la victoire s’ensuit.
