Shloka 7

अन्वासन्त दुराधर्ष देवव्रतमरिंदमम्‌ । अन्योन्यं प्रीतिमन्तस्ते यथापूर्व यथावय:

sañjaya uvāca |

anvāsanta durādharṣa devavratam ariṃdamam | anyonyaṃ prītimantas te yathāpūrvaṃ yathāvayaḥ ||

Sañjaya dit : Alors ces guerriers—Kauravas et Pāṇḍavas—difficiles à assaillir, déposèrent leurs armures et posèrent leurs armes, se retirèrent du combat et, comme auparavant, s’assirent ensemble près de Devavrata Bhīṣma, le dompteur des ennemis. Gardant entre eux une bienveillance réciproque, ils prirent place selon l’ordre dû à l’âge et à l’ancienneté—montrant que, même dans la guerre, le respect des aînés et les liens de parenté peuvent se réaffirmer lorsque les hostilités s’interrompent.
