सहिता: पाण्डवा: सर्वे कुरवश्च महारथा: । उपगम्य महात्मानं शयानं शयने शुभे

sahitāḥ pāṇḍavāḥ sarve kuravaś ca mahārathāḥ |
upagamya mahātmānaṃ śayānaṃ śayane śubhe, rājan |
Sañjaya dit : Tous les Pāṇḍava ensemble, et les Kaurava—ces grands guerriers de char—s’approchèrent du noble Bhīṣma, étendu sur son lit de bon augure. Ô Roi, ils vinrent avec révérence, honorant l’aîné qui était pour eux comme un père, et veillèrent à sa protection jusque dans les rudes exigences de la guerre.
संजय उवाच
Even in the midst of war, dharma requires honoring elders and recognizing nobility of character; reverence and protective care can coexist with martial duty.
Sañjaya reports that both sides—the Pāṇḍavas and the Kaurava great warriors—go together to Bhīṣma, who is lying on an auspicious bed, and approach him respectfully (the broader passage describes honoring and safeguarding him after his fall).
