ततः किरीटी संरब्धो भीष्ममेवाभ्यधावत
tataḥ kirīṭī saṃrabdho bhīṣmam evābhyadhāvat | atāḍayan raṇe bhīṣmaṃ sahitāḥ sarvasṛñjayāḥ ||
Sañjaya dit : Alors Arjuna, le héros au diadème, enflammé de résolution, se rua droit sur Bhīṣma. Et tous les guerriers Sṛñjaya, unis, frappèrent Bhīṣma sur le champ de bataille de toutes parts, cherchant à le harceler et à le presser durement dans la fureur de la guerre. La scène souligne l’éthique sombre du combat kṣatriya : la force se concentre pour contenir un ancien presque invincible, tandis que révérence et devoir s’entrechoquent au cœur des nécessités du champ de bataille.
