सा च सर्वनरेन्द्राणां चन्द्रार्कसदृशी प्रभा । वीराज़दकिरीटेषु निष्प्रभा समपद्यत,समस्त राजाओंकी चन्द्रमा और सूर्यके समान प्रकाशित होनेवाली प्रभा वीरोंके अंगद और किरीटोंके सामने अत्यन्त फीकी पड़ गयी
sā ca sarva-narendrāṇāṃ candrārka-sadṛśī prabhā | vīrājad-akirīṭeṣu niṣprabhā samapadyata ||
Sañjaya dit : L’éclat de tous les rois—brillant comme la lune et le soleil—devant les brassards et les couronnes des héros se trouva réduit à une lueur terne, comme s’il avait perdu sa splendeur. La scène souligne que, dans la guerre, la magnificence du monde se mesure à l’aune de la prouesse martiale et des signes visibles de la vaillance.
