Bhīṣma’s unmatched momentum and the assault with Śikhaṇḍin in the lead

This verse is a colophon rather than a doctrinal statement: it teaches how the Mahābhārata frames events ethically and structurally—individual clashes (like Arjuna and Duḥśāsana) are situated within the wider dharmic narrative of the war and within the pivotal arc of Bhīṣma’s fall.
The text is marking the close of Adhyāya 110 in the Bhīṣma Parva, identifying its focus as the encounter between Arjuna and Duḥśāsana, and placing it within the broader Bhīṣma-vadha (Bhīṣma’s bringing down) section.
