ववर्ष शरवर्षेण मेघो वृष्ट्या यथाचलौ । पुरुषसिंह श्रीकृष्ण और अर्जुनको रथपर बैठे देख शान्तनुनन्दन भीष्मने पुनः उनपर बाणोंकी वर्षा आरम्भ कर दी, मानो मेघ दो पर्वतोंपर जलकी धारा गिरा रहा हो
vavarṣa śaravarṣeṇa megho vṛṣṭyā yathācalau |
Sañjaya dit : Bhīṣma, fils de Śāntanu, voyant le lion parmi les hommes—Śrī Kṛṣṇa—et Arjuna assis ensemble sur leur char, recommença à les accabler d’une pluie de flèches, comme un nuage déversant des torrents d’eau sur deux montagnes. Le vers souligne l’intensité implacable du combat juste : une vaillance inébranlable rencontre une résistance inébranlable, et le champ de bataille devient l’épreuve de la résolution et du devoir.
