भीमसेनस्य बहुमहारथसंयुगः
Bhīmasena’s Engagement with Multiple Mahārathas
नासज्जन्त तनुत्रेषु भीष्मचापच्युता: शरा: । हतवीरान् रथात् राजन् संयुक्ताञ्जवनैर्हयै:
sañjaya uvāca
nāsajjanta tanutreṣu bhīṣma-cāpa-cyutāḥ śarāḥ | hatavīrān rathāt rājan saṃyuktān javanair hayaiḥ ||
Sañjaya dit : Ô roi, les flèches lâchées de l’arc de Bhīṣma ne restaient pas fichées dans les cuirasses des guerriers ; au contraire, elles frappaient avec une telle violence qu’après avoir abattu les champions, elles renversaient les chars, tirés à vive allure par des chevaux rapides. La scène souligne l’élan funeste du combat, où prouesse et destin s’unissent pour ôter toute sûreté même aux mieux protégés.
