अर्जुनदुःखहेतुप्रश्नः — Inquiry into the cause of Arjuna’s recurring hardship

एवमेतदिति प्राहुस्तदभूल्लोमहर्षणम्‌ । उनके ऐसा कहनेपर भीमसेन आदि भाइयों और द्रौपदीने एक स्वरसे कहा--'हाँ, महाराजका कहना ठीक है।” इस महान्‌ त्यागकी बात सुनकर सबके रोंगटे खड़े हो गये

evam etad iti prāhus tad abhūl lomaharṣaṇam |

«Ainsi soit-il», répondirent-ils, et l’instant fit frissonner l’assemblée. Même après qu’il eut parlé de la sorte, Bhīmasena et les autres frères, avec Draupadī, dirent d’une seule voix : «Oui — ce que dit le roi est juste.» En entendant le récit d’un tel renoncement, tous en eurent les cheveux dressés, saisis de révérence devant le poids éthique de ce sacrifice.
