वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse foregrounds dharmic attentiveness to auspicious timing and the ethical norm of receiving a Brahmin guest respectfully; even while occupied with basic needs (seeking food), one recognizes fortune and obligation in a worthy visitor’s arrival.
The narrator reports a speaker addressing a foremost Brahmin who has come to him unexpectedly at a particular division of the day, noting that he himself was at that moment searching for food.
