कृच्छेणैव तु तां पार्थो गोविन्दे विनिवेशिताम् । संजहार ततो दृष्टिं कृष्णश्वाप्पपराजित:
kṛcchreṇaiva tu tāṃ pārtho govinde viniveśitām | saṃjahāra tato dṛṣṭiṃ kṛṣṇaś cāpy aparājitaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : Ce ne fut qu’au prix d’un grand effort que Pārtha (Arjuna) détourna son regard, fixé sur Govinda (Kṛṣṇa). Et Kṛṣṇa lui-même—invincible à tous—était dans le même état, peinant à se détourner. La scène souligne la profondeur de leur lien : même les plus puissants sont un instant vaincus, non par un ennemi, mais par l’amour, le devoir et la douleur de la séparation.
