Ethics of Non-attachment

ग्रासादाच्छादनादन्यन्न गृह्लीयात्‌ कथंचन । यावदाहारयेत्‌ तावत्‌ प्रतिगृह्लीत नाधिकम्‌,खानेके लिये अन्न और शरीर ढकनेके लिये वस्त्रके सिवा और किसी वस्तुका संग्रह न करे। भिक्षा भी, जितनी भोजनके लिये आवश्यक हो, उतनी ही ग्रहण करे, उससे अधिक नहीं

grāsād ācchādanād anyan na gṛhlīyāt kathaṃcana | yāvad āhārayet tāvat pratigṛhlīta nādhikam ||

Vāyu-deva dit : «Qu’on n’accepte ni n’amasse jamais rien au-delà de ce qui est nécessaire pour la nourriture et pour couvrir le corps. Même en recevant l’aumône, qu’on ne prenne que ce qu’il faut pour son repas—jamais davantage.»
