Adhyāya 40: Brahmā on Mahān (The Great Principle) and the All-Pervading Puruṣa
विष्णुरेवादिसर्गेषु स्वयम्भूर्भवति प्रभु:
viṣṇur evādi-sargeṣu svayambhūr bhavati prabhuḥ |
Vāyu dit : «Dans les créations primordiales, c’est bien Viṣṇu—le Seigneur souverain—qui se manifeste de lui-même (svayambhū).» L’enseignement souligne que le Suprême n’est produit par aucune cause extérieure ; par sa seule volonté il apparaît au commencement de la création. Celui qui connaît ce Seigneur suprême—demeurant dans la “caverne” de l’intellect comme maître intérieur, de forme universelle, Personne primordiale, rayonnant comme l’or (hiraṇmaya) et but suprême des sages—dépasse les limites de l’intelligence ordinaire et atteint l’état le plus élevé.
