Adhvaryu–Yati Dialogue on Svabhāva, Ahiṃsā, and Mokṣa
तमध्वर्यु: प्रत्युवाच नायं छागो विनश्यति । श्रेयसा योक्ष्यते जन्तुर्यदि श्रुतिरियं तथा
tam adhvaryuḥ pratyuvāca: nāyaṃ chāgo vinaśyati | śreyasā yokṣyate jantur yadi śrutir iyaṃ tathā ||
Le prêtre officiant répondit : « Ce bouc ne sera pas détruit. Si l’injonction védique (śruti) qui parle de “l’animal qu’on mène (pour le rite)” est véridique, alors cet être vivant sera uni à un bien plus élevé. »
