क्रियावद्धि्हिं कौन्तेय देवलोक: समावृत: । न चैतदिष्टं देवानां मर्त्यरूपनिवर्तनम्,कुन्तीकुमार! क्रियावान् पुरुषोंसे देवलोक भरा पड़ा है। देवताओंको यह अभीष्ट नहीं है कि मनुष्यके मर्त्यरूपकी निवृत्ति हो
kriyāvaddhiḥ kaunteya devalokaḥ samāvṛtaḥ | na caitadiṣṭaṃ devānāṃ martyarūpanivartanam, kuntīkumāra |
Vāyu dit : «Ô fils de Kuntī, le monde céleste est rempli de ceux qui sont riches en actes sacrés et en discipline dans l’accomplissement du devoir. Les dieux ne souhaitent pas que la condition humaine d’un mortel soit rejetée (avant l’heure) ; car l’ordre divin est maintenu lorsque les hommes demeurent dans la sphère qui leur est assignée et acquièrent du mérite par des actes justes.»
