अध्याय ९ — धृतराष्ट्रस्य युधिष्ठिरं प्रति राजनित्युपदेशः
Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Counsel on Royal Policy to Yudhiṣṭhira
धृतराष्ट्रश्न तद्वाक्यमभिपूज्य पुन: पुन:,धृतराष्ट्रने भी बारंबार साम्बके वचनोंकी सराहना की और सब लोगोंसे सम्मानित होकर धीरे-धीरे सबको विदा कर दिया। उस समय सबने उन्हें शुभ दृष्टिसे ही देखा
dhṛtarāṣṭras tu tad vākyam abhipūjya punaḥ punaḥ | sarvān saṃmānya śanaiḥ śanaiḥ sarvān visasarja ha | tadā taṃ sarva-bhūtāni śubha-dṛṣṭyāiva paśyatha ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : Dhṛtarāṣṭra, honorant ces paroles à maintes reprises, les loua encore et encore. Puis, après avoir témoigné à chacun le respect qui lui était dû, il prit congé de tous peu à peu. En cet instant, tous les présents ne le regardèrent qu’avec des yeux de bon augure—signe extérieur de réconciliation et de retenue éthique, digne des anciens au soir de la vie.
