Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Counsel on Royal Policy to Yudhiṣṭhira
The verse conveys a dharmic valuation of life and death: a ruler who endures his appointed path with courage and fidelity—supported by loyal companions—deserves ‘vīraloka’, an honored destiny associated with valor and righteous resolve.
Vaiśampāyana offers a formal blessing about a king previously under discussion, stating that he, along with his companions, may reach the heroic realm—an evaluative comment that frames the preceding events in terms of merit and honorable outcome.
