धृतराष्ट्रस्य वनप्रस्थानानुज्ञा | Permission for Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Forest-Retirement
तद् वो हृदि न कर्तव्यं मया बद्धोडयमञ्जलि: । उस अवसरपर मुझसे भला या बुरा जो कुछ भी कृत्य हो गया, उसे आपलोग अपने मनमें न लावें। इसके लिये मैं आपलोगोंसे हाथ जोड़कर क्षमा-प्रार्थना करता हूँ
tad vo hṛdi na kartavyaṃ mayā baddho ’yam añjaliḥ | asmin avasare mayā bhalaṃ vā pāpaṃ vā yat kiñcid api kṛtaṃ syāt, tat sarvaṃ yuṣmābhiḥ manasi na nidhātavyam; etad-arthaṃ yuṣmān prati aham añjaliṃ baddhvā kṣamā-prārthanāṃ karomi ||
«Ne le gardez pas dans vos cœurs ; je me tiens devant vous les mains jointes. Quoi que j’aie fait en cette occasion—bien ou mal—ne le retenez pas dans votre esprit. C’est pourquoi je vous implore le pardon, paumes réunies.»
