Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
तस्माद् ये वै प्रयच्छन्ति सुवर्ण धर्मदर्शिन: । देवतास्ते प्रयच्छन्ति समस्ता इति नः श्रुतम्
tasmād ye vai prayacchanti suvarṇaṃ dharmadarśinaḥ | devatās te prayacchanti samastā iti naḥ śrutam ||
C’est pourquoi l’on dit que ceux qui, clairvoyants dans le dharma, font don d’or, donnent en une seule fois à toutes les divinités. Telle est l’enseignement reçu par la tradition : le don d’or est tenu pour une offrande sacrée totale, qui honore l’ordre divin par la générosité.
