गोशकृन्माहात्म्य-प्रश्नः (On the Merit of Cow-Dung and the Abode of Śrī) / Inquiry into the Sanctity of Cow-Dung
एवं रात्रौ दिवा चापि समेषु विषमेषु च । महाभयेषु च नर: कीर्तयन् मुच्यते भयात्
evaṁ rātrau divā cāpi sameṣu viṣameṣu ca | mahābhayeṣu ca naraḥ kīrtayan mucyate bhayāt ||
Bhīṣma dit : «De nuit comme de jour, dans l’aisance comme dans l’épreuve, et même face aux plus grands effrois, celui qui ne cesse de louer et de réciter le nom de Gomātā (la Vache sacrée, Mère Vache) se trouve délivré de la peur.»
भीष्म उवाच
Maintain unwavering devotional remembrance—specifically, praising/reciting the sacred name associated with Gomātā—regardless of time or circumstance; such steady kīrtana is taught to dissolve fear and stabilize one’s dharmic resolve.
Bhīṣma is instructing (as a teacher of dharma) that in all situations—night/day, ease/distress, and even extreme danger—a person who continues kīrtana attains release from fear, presenting devotion as a protective discipline.
