न चाशिष्यायात्रतायोपकुर्या- न्नाश्रद्दधधानाय न वक्रबुद्धये । गुह्यो हायं सर्वलोकस्य धर्मों नेम॑ धर्म यत्र तत्र प्रजल्पेत्‌

Transliteration

na cāśiṣyāya atratāya upakuryān nāśraddadhānāya na vakrabuddhaye | guhyo hy ayaṁ sarvalokasya dharmo na imaṁ dharmaṁ yatra tatra prajalpet ||

Translation

Bhīṣma dit : «On ne doit pas transmettre ce rite du don de la vache à quelqu’un qui n’est pas son disciple, qui n’observe pas les vœux, qui manque de foi ou dont l’esprit est tortueux. C’est un dharma tenu secret au regard du monde; aussi ne doit-on pas en parler partout sans discernement.»
