A yogin with a purified mind can perceive higher realms even while living; at the time of death, relinquishing bodily identification becomes a lucid release rather than a bewildering end.
Bhīṣma (Pitāmaha), instructing on dharma and spiritual discipline, explains the experiential insight of disciplined practitioners: through purity of mind and the act of laying aside the body, they behold subtle worlds that seem dream-like.
