एकषष्टितमो< ध्याय: राजाके लिये यज्ञ
Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca—dānaṁ yajñaḥ kriyā ceha kiṁsvit pretya mahāphalam | kasya jyāyaḥ phalaṁ prokte kīdṛśebhyaḥ kathaṁ kadā ||
Yudhiṣṭhira dit : «Entre la charité et le sacrifice—et, plus largement, les actes de dharma en ce monde—lequel donne le plus grand fruit après la mort ? Des deux, lequel est déclaré supérieur ? À quels brāhmanes faut-il faire des dons, quand et comment ? Et de quelle manière, à quel moment, doit-on accomplir les sacrifices ? Je veux connaître cela avec exactitude.
