Cyavana Explains His Tests; Kuśika Seeks Brāhmaṇya for His Line (च्यवन–कुशिक संवादः)
इतना कहकर राजा कुशिकने महामुनि च्यवनको बैठनेके लिये आसन दिया और स्वयं अपनी पत्नीके साथ उस स्थानपर आये, जहाँ वे मुनि विराजमान थे ।।
pragṛhya rājā bhṛṅgāraṃ pādyam asmai nyavedayat | kārayāmāsa sarvākṣa kriyās tasya mahātmanaḥ ||
Bhīṣma dit : Saisissant le vase d’eau, le roi offrit avec respect l’eau destinée à laver les pieds du sage. Puis il fit accomplir comme il se doit tous les rites d’hospitalité—tels que l’offrande d’arghya et les observances connexes—en l’honneur de cet ascète magnanime. Ce passage met en lumière le devoir éthique d’honorer l’hôte, surtout un ṛṣi vénérable, par un service personnel empreint d’humilité et par l’accomplissement intégral des courtoisies prescrites.
