स्वभावश्चैव नारीणां नराणामिह दूषणम् | अत्यर्थ न प्रसज्जन्ते प्रमदासु विपक्चित:,इस जगतमें मनुष्योंको कलंकित कर देना नारियोंका स्वभाव है; अतः विवेकी पुरुष युवती स्त्रियोंमें अधिक आसक्त नहीं होते हैं
svabhāvaś caiva nārīṇāṁ narāṇām iha dūṣaṇam | atyarthaṁ na prasajjante pramadāsu vipakṣitaḥ ||
Bhīṣma dit : Dans ce monde, la tendance naturelle des femmes est de devenir une cause par laquelle les hommes tombent dans le déshonneur. C’est pourquoi les hommes avisés ne s’attachent pas avec excès aux jeunes femmes.
