Cyavana’s Water-Vow and the Ethics of Cohabitation (स्नेह-सम्वास-धर्मः)

जातानां समवर्णाया: पुत्राणामविशेषत: । सर्वेषामेव वर्णानां समभागो धनात्‌ स्मृत:,समस्त वर्णोके सभी पुत्रोंका, जो समान वर्णकी स्त्रीसे उत्पन्न हुए हैं, सामान्यतः: पैतृक धनमें समान भाग माना गया है

jātānāṃ samavarṇāyāḥ putrāṇām aviśeṣataḥ | sarveṣām eva varṇānāṃ samabhāgo dhanāt smṛtaḥ ||

Bhīṣma dit : «En règle générale, les fils nés d’une épouse de la même varṇa, sans aucune distinction, sont tenus en mémoire comme ayant une part égale des biens paternels. Ce principe est rappelé comme s’appliquant à toutes les varṇa.»
