Ānṛśaṃsya–Bhakti: Śukaḥ Śakreṇa Parīkṣitaḥ
Compassion and Devotion—The Parrot Tested by Indra
एवमेव मनुष्येन्द्र भक्तिमन्तं समाश्रित: । सर्वार्थसिद्धि लभते शुकं प्राप्य यथा द्रुम:
evam eva manuṣyendra bhaktimantaṁ samāśritaḥ | sarvārthasiddhiṁ labhate śukaṁ prāpya yathā drumaḥ ||
Bhīṣma dit : «De même, ô le meilleur des hommes : celui qui prend refuge auprès d’un être véritablement dévot obtient l’accomplissement de tous ses buts, comme cet arbre qui, ayant obtenu la compagnie du perroquet Śuka, parvint à la pleine réalisation de ses désirs. Ainsi, en s’appuyant sur un homme pourvu de bhakti, chacun peut mener ses aspirations à la réussite.»
