भीष्म उवाच
Compassion (ānṛśaṁsya), expressed through concrete action, is a powerful form of dharma whose karmic fruit can lead to exalted realms; ethical conduct is presented as a direct cause of spiritual and posthumous attainment.
Bhīṣma, instructing the king, cites Śuka as an example: because of a particular compassionate deed, Śuka, upon death, attained Śakra’s world (Indraloka), illustrating the reward of kindness within the moral framework of the Anuśāsana teachings.
