प्रमदाश्च॒ यथा सृष्टा ब्रह्मणा भरतर्षभ । यदर्थ तच्च ते तात प्रवक्ष्यामि नराधिप,भरतश्रेष्ठ! तात! नरेश्वर! ब्रह्माजीने जिस प्रकार और जिस उद्देश्यसे युवतियोंकी सृष्टि की है, वह सब मैं तुम्हें बताऊँगा
pramadāś ca yathā sṛṣṭā brahmaṇā bharatarṣabha | yadarthaṃ tac ca te tāta pravakṣyāmi narādhipa ||
Bhīṣma dit : «Ô taureau parmi les Bharata, mon cher—ô roi—je t’exposerai la manière dont Brahmā créa les femmes, ainsi que le dessein pour lequel elles furent amenées à l’existence.»
